A new study shows that practicing mindfulness could be equally effective as anti-depressants. This is not the first ever study to show such results. In fact a pilot study done in 2008 showed very similar results. The relapse rate in the group practicing mindfulness was 44%, very close to the 47% in the group using anti-depressants. This still has to be taken with a grain of salt. When it comes to mindfulness, the overall research is still in its infancy.
