Rather than making us smart, multitasking makes us less intelligent and more stressed.

In our society, ability to multitask is valued greatly. How else can be go through our to-do list and make any progress unless we multitask? People who can’t multitask very well, may look down upon themselves.

But is that really so? Is multitasking better than mono-tasking? More and more research is pointing to the direction that we are better off, not multitasking. Our brains can’t just multitask? They are not wired to do so. It is just an illusion.
