Meditation can instantly promote adaptive behavior, which is the behavior that can vary adaptively from moment to moment depending on the current goals. And this can happen immediately after a relatively short 20 minutes of meditation session, even if the person has never meditated before!
This study shows that meditation can instantly affect behavior and this impact doesn’t require practice. Although the real benefits of meditation accrue only in the long run, there is something to be said about the immediate effects as well!
