It may sound strange or surprising, but you can greatly reduce stress just by setting an intention. You may wonder what kind of intention do you have to set. It is a completely random intention.
You have to set an intention to be present, or to be calm or to let go of the worrying thoughts about the future. This is the most crucial part of the whole practice. It doesn’t matter whether you really succeed at being present, or at being calm or in letting go of worrying thoughts.
What really matters is setting the intention and repeatedly coming back to this intention, even if you continuously find yourself straying.
