$25M Spent for Mindfulness Intervention

The Department of Education in the state of Chicago has shelled out $25 million in provide a mindfulness intervention to kindergarteners across the state.

With this project, the kids are able to go to “calm spots” in the corner to watch nature videos. Mindfulness activities are also a part of this project. It aims to provide the kids with three kinds of activities on a daily basis.

“Mindfulness is a secular, psychological mode involving non-judgmental focus on present-moment sensations, and has been shown to have a number of benefits to well-being,” the grant abstract for the project states.
