Known by its short form MBSR, this program was started by Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D at University of Massachusetts, Medical Center, in 1979.

MBSR came from UMass Medical Center. It goes to show that Mindfulness doesn’t mean mumbo-jumbo and it means serious health care.

MBSR is a 8-week intensive program. Each week we meet in a group setting for 2 and 1/2 hours to 3 and 1/2 hours. In the 7th week we meet for a whole day session. There is a total of 29 hours of instructions in this program.

Last two decades of research have consistently shown that MBSR program participants had
